Coding for Kids - Scratch Jr. Dance Party Link to lesson plan I plan to use this lesson when teaching science, specifically when teaching computer science students. However, through this class and the other STEAM classes, I have realized the importance of incorporating technology into teaching all subjects. Scratch and Scratch Jr. make it easy to integrate that technology into anything that I may teach. I'm excited to learn more about the app and find different ways that students can incorporate it into their learning.
1) Previous experience with AI applications e.g., ChatGPT) and how you have used them (e.g., writing assignments)? I have used ChatGPT to help create writing prompts for lessons, create rubrics, find different recipes to cook and help get ideas of things to do when I get bored. I have also used Magic School AI to help create rubrics, and I used it with my MT this year to plan a quick lesson to see how it worked and how well it works. 2) Educational technology being used in your 3rd year practicum placement? My mentor teacher this year uses ChatGPT as Educational Technology to help her create rubrics or other in-class activities. For example, we were learning about ladybugs and she used ChatGPT to generate a reading and questions to assess the Grade 3s reading comprehension skills. The school has a tech room where classes can sign up and use communal Chromebooks.
